A daily word game in Romanian, Polish, Italian and 12 more languages

The five-letter daily word game is a habit for millions of people, but almost every version is English first and "other languages" second, with word lists that reject common words and keyboards without the letters you need. Wordglow was built the other way round: each language gets its own dictionary and its own keyboard.

What is different

  • 15 languages, each with a real dictionary: Romanian with ș and ț, Polish with ł and ż, Czech, Turkish and German with their own letters, Bulgarian, Russian and Ukrainian in Cyrillic, plus English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch and Swedish.
  • Native keyboards: the letters that exist in the language, in the order people expect.
  • One daily word per language that everyone gets, plus unlimited practice and a hard mode for people who find the daily one too easy.
  • Works offline, no account, no tracking. Streaks and statistics stay on the phone.

How to play

Guess the hidden five-letter word in six tries. After each guess the tiles light up: green for a letter in the right place, yellow for a letter in the word but elsewhere, grey for a letter not in the word. Share your result as the classic emoji grid without spoiling the word.

Learning a language with it

Switching the game to a language you are learning is a surprisingly good five-minute daily drill: you practise spelling, you see which letter combinations are common, and a wrong guess still has to be a real word, so you look things up. Many players keep two languages going, their own and the one they study.

Wordglow is on the App Store for iPhone. Its sibling Crossglow does the same for crosswords: swipe letters on a wheel to fill the grid, endless levels, same 15 languages.
