We wrote a beginner's book on Xcode 27, and it now reads in seven languages

Most Xcode books are written for people who already code. We wrote one for people who do not: Xcode 27 in Simple Words starts at a blank Mac and ends with your own app running on your own iPhone, ready for TestFlight. This autumn it became seven books.

What is in it

  • You build Tick, a small habit tracker, from the first screen to the App Store submission.
  • Every term is explained the moment it appears, and every chapter ends with "If something goes wrong" and "What you learned".
  • Nearly fifty screenshots taken on the real Xcode 27 and iOS 27, so what you see matches your Mac.
  • A chapter on the Claude Agent in Xcode: let it plan and write code, and keep control of what it changes.
  • Icons with Icon Composer, translation with String Catalogs, and the debugger, explained for beginners.

Seven editions

  • English and German: on Amazon Kindle. Italian: arriving on Amazon now.
  • Spanish, Hebrew, Arabic and Simplified Chinese: sold directly on our Books page as EPUB.

The Hebrew and Arabic editions read right to left, which means more than flipping the text: the cover is mirrored, lists and arrows point the other way, and code stays left to right inside a right-to-left page. Those two editions took the most care, and they are the ones we are proudest of.

Who it is for

Founders who want to understand what their developers do, designers who want to build their own prototypes, students, and anyone who has opened Xcode once, seen a wall of panels and closed it again.

More titles in the same series are on the Books page: Swift in Simple Words, Online Ads in Simple Words, and 10 Things You Need to Know Before You Create a YouTube Channel in 2027.
